What is the term of the Franchise Agreement?

A
The term is set for 5 years. You do have the right to renew the Agreement without a further fee for an additional period of 5 years, subject to your Franchise having been operated in a satisfactory manner and in accordance with the other conditions as set out in the Franchise Agreement.

Can I sell my business?

A
Yes, subject to certain conditions. We do stipulate that any purchaser must be approved by ourselves.

Can I borrow money for the purchase of my Franchise?

A
Usually, yes. However, this is dependent upon your individual circumstances. All of the major banks have a Franchise Department and are used to dealing with potential Franchisees.

Where can I trade?

A
We are seeking Franchisees for locations throughout the United Kingdom. You will be asked to carry out an evaluation of your proposed territory as part of our application process. The Franchisor retains the final decision on territory.

Is my territory protected, and how is it established?

A
Yes. We will not allow another British Blinds operation to be opened within a given territory or to promote itself in another Franchisee’s specified area. Your exact territory will be specified in your Franchise Agreement.

Are there any limitations on my trading?

A
You may market your service in an adjacent territory with the Franchisor’s permission, if the territory has not been allocated to another Franchisee. However, when the territory is subsequently allocated you must cease to promote your service within that territory.

What is my next step?

A
Consider the opportunity of owning and managing a British Blinds business in your chosen area. Discuss the business opportunity with your advisors (for example, your accountant and lawyer).

How much is the Franchise Fee?

A
The initial Franchise Fee is £4,995 (net of VAT). Once you have considered the business and wish to purchase a Franchise, you will be required to pay a £500 (plus VAT) Intent to Proceed Deposit. The £4,495 (plus VAT) balance is payable when you sign the Franchise Agreement.

What other costs are there?

We have assumed that you will have an area at home from which you can administer your business and that you have existing telephone line and email provision already in place. Vehicle livery can vary and most franchisees are happy to find a local supplier to undertake this at minimal cost.

What are the details of the Training Programme?

A
The curriculum covers all aspects of the business.The training programme provides the necessary technical training and administrative knowledge to run a local British Blinds operation. Afterwards, ongoing training and support will be available to offer ’hands-on’ advice as you and your business progress.

How much can I earn from a British Blinds Franchise?

A
Your earnings are largely dependent on your own efforts and tenacity. However, projections are provided within the Financial Statements as a guide, based upon our assessment of the market opportunity. You must draw up your own business plan, specific to your chosen area.
